Bible Taboo card generator

Quick answer

Bible Taboo (also called the forbidden words game) has players describe a Bible word, like “Noah”, without saying the four forbidden words listed on the card (ark, flood, animals, rain). It suits youth groups and adults. Use the cards below on screen or print them.

How to play

  1. Form two teams. One player is the clue-giver; someone from the other team watches the card.
  2. The clue-giver describes the top word without saying it or any of the forbidden words.
  3. Their team guesses as many cards as possible in 60 seconds.
  4. Score a point per correct guess. If a forbidden word is said, the watcher buzzes and the card is skipped.

Tips for leaders

  • No gestures, “sounds like” or first letters allowed.
  • Use “People” cards for younger youth and “Church words” for a harder round.
  • Great as a review game at the end of a Bible study series.
